Nawazuddin
Siddiqui has four movies and a web project this year (Bal Thackerey, Manto,
Genius, The Photographer & Sacred Games). He also happens to play the lead
in all his movies. This is the first phase in his career where he is
shouldering all four projects. Apparently, he has about Rs 350 Cr riding on him
with these films and the web show.

An insider said, “Before this year, he has
mostly done two hero movies be it with the Khans, such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan or
Raaes or Talaash or with the younger generation of actors. Although he has had
essayed pivotal parts in his previous movies, this year he is the face of all
his four films. Besides, the actor is getting to play diverse roles, not
necessarily dark characters or anti-hero. It’s a different phase in his career
graph.”

Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh said, “It's a big
year for Nawazuddin Siddiqui with over 350 crores riding on him. Apart from
four movies this year including the Bal Thackeray biopic and The Photographer,
he also has an ambitious web series coming up. It's no easy feat juggling
between five professional commitments all very different from each other and
each requiring intense and nuanced preparation. However, Nawaz has proved his
mettle at taking on challenging roles and pulling them off brilliantly. 2018 is
definitely going to be a turning point in his career as he is front lining and
shouldering the responsibility of all the four ambitious projects.”
