It's a crowded weekend at the theatres in terms of movie releases but will it translate into a crowded weekend in terms of footfalls? As many as 3 films hit theatres-Housefull 4,.Saand Ki Aankh and Made In China- and naturally the trade is buzzing on guesses how loudly they'll set the cash registers ringing.

It is best to not make personal guesses and instead ask the experts. Not that they may be off target once in a while. Not that I believe that average or below average collections indicate a bad movie- The Sky Is Pink being a classic case in point.

We called up trade expert Amod Mehra who started off with a reminder that it's not Diwali on Friday and Saturday. "Hence, I expect Housefull to collect between 20-25 cr. Had it landed on the Diwali day, it would have easily got 35 cr. Housefull 4 looks however safe to get about 100-125 cr in its first 5 days."

"I expect the collections of all 3 movies to become healthy only around Sunday," he added.

Another trade ace Taran Adarsh marked his lower limit of Housefull 4 as 18 cr and upper limit as 20 cr, but hastened to add that he may be off mark by 1-2 cr each way. Adarsh predicts Saand Ki Aankh to garner anywhere between 2.5-3.5 cr and marks Made In China about 2.5 cr.

Adarsh too added that the performance graphs would shoot up only post Sunday, largely Monday and Tuesday.

Adarsh and Mehra both think that the screen distribution, which is perhaps not yet on paper in few plexes, will also play a major role especially when it comes to Day 1, though later of course the most accepted one of the three will thrive the most.

Leading exhibitor Akshay Rathi had the following numbers to offer: Housefull-20 cr,  Saand Ki Aankh-  1-2 cr, Made In China-  2-3 cr. But Rathi is confident that Saand Ki Aankh will overtake Made In China in the long run.

The swords are out. We all say we're not competing with each other but isn't that just a politically correct statement especially in today's times, with almost everyone trying to push the other over? War begins tomorrow morning.
