There is no doubt about Irrfan Khan being the most sought after Indian actor in Hollywood.

So, when veteran filmmaker Ridley Scott needed someone to play an Indian scientist in his upcoming sci-fi film, Alien: Paradise Lost, his obvious choice was Irrfan.

The film, slated to release in 2017, will start rolling in January in Hungary.

Scott had earlier approached Irrfan to play ISRO scientist Venkat Kapoor - the character was based on Padma Shri awardee Dr. Subbiah Arunan -- in his film The Martian. But owing to clash of dates, Irrfan couldn't be part of that film.

This time, however, the actor is likely to give his nod to the role.
