If you think Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood venture
made it to the theatres in India with no cuts, then you are WRONG.
CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani made sure that the film is
Sanskaari enough for the Indian audience.
Surprisingly, the list of cuts is negligible. If you take
a close look, it is evident that the CBFC has cleared the film with a UA
rating, but with 4 specific changes.
While the smoking disclaimer is a routine one, it is the
other 3 cuts where the problem lied. Words like ‘ass***e, son of a b***h,
ba**s, and even baller (which is not even a swear word) were asked to be
removed. Girls lying on the bed and pouring liquor was also strictly prohibited
from making it to the final cut.
The third part of the xXx franchise marked the Hollywood
debut of Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone but haven’t been able to win over
audience’s heart. The film, which had an early release in India on January 14,
didn’t have a great run at the box-office.
Deepika had organised a grand welcome for Vin Diesel in
India last week and the premiere of the film was a star-studded affair in
presence of Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Irrfan Khan, Kriti Sanon
and many others. Deepika also made Vin dance to her tunes on Lungi Dance.
Currently Deepika Padukone is in the West busy with the
international premieres and promotions of the film. xXx: Return Of Xander Cage
released worldwide yesterday (January 20).
