The ever-beautiful MP Hema Malini had to skip the last parliamentary session. “I wanted to go. But my daughters (Esha  and Ahana) would hear none of it. They wouldn’t listen to any of my arguments. After a certain age, the children become  like your parents,”  laughs Hemaji who turned 72 in October .

The Dream Girl who never minces words says she is fed up of being confined to her home in Mumbai.  “Now enough is enough. How long can the nation hold its breath for the Coronavirus to go away? For someone like me who was  constantly travelling in normal times, being tied down to one place is unbearable.”

She especially misses visiting her constituency. “I miss the people of Mathura, and I know they miss me. The first thing I’ll do is visit my constituency once I am able to travel.”

Hemaji grumbles that she hasn’t met her husband ,the affable Dharmendra ever since the Lockdown. “He is happily isolated at his farmhouse, doing gardening, listening to old Hindi songs and writing Urdu poetry.”

Hema Malini’s younger daughter Ahana Deol, who got married to Vaibhav Vohra in 2014 was blessed with a baby boy in 2015. Now 5 years later, the couple is more than elated as they welcomed twin girls.
