Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor’s son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya which unfortunately flopped at the box-office. He then starred in Bhavesh Joshi which also ranked at the Box Office. Back in 2016, rumours were rife that he was doing Sriram Raghvan’s film Andhadhun. However later things didn’t work out between the two and it ended with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. The film was lauded by one and all and it also ended up winning National Award in the Best Feature film category.
Recently, Harsh opened up about passing on Andhadhun. He said this isn’t true and he would like to clear the misconception. When a fan asked Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor during his Q&A session, “Do you regret passing on Andhadhun? What made you not do the film?,” he replied to his fans query, Harsh wrote, “This is a misconception. I actually had said yes to the film upon hearing it. But Bhavesh Joshi got delayed and my dates were not working out so I lost the film.”
In December 2016, when rumours around him opting out of the project made headlines, he was quick to acknowledge it. He had back then told the media, “I never opted out of the film. But there are a lot of things which go into saying a yes or no for a film, your dates have to be blocked and other such things. It's a conversation that goes on between the actor and the director and then an article comes, badly timed. So, I am not sure about that film. I can't tell you if I am doing it, I can't tell you if I am not doing it.”
