Up until two years ago, most of the Bollywood birthdays included a big bash to ring in the big day that would turn into an extravagant celebration running till the wee hours of the next morning. But then came the Covid pandemic that changed things for everyone. From star-studded bashes, birthday celebrations turned into a private family affair at home. And today (August 1), it’s the birthday of one of the most versatile actresses of this generation, Taapsee Pannu, and it’s a quiet one for her too.

Today, the actress, and the newly turned producer will be celebrating turning a year older with her team on her maiden production, Blurr. A source close to the actress informs, “Taapsee doesn’t have any big celebration plans for today as she is having a working birthday this year. She is shooting for her first production, Blurr, in Nainital. But to make her birthday special, her sisters Shagun Pannu and Evania Pannu have travelled to the mountain city to be with their sister and bring in her big day. They plan to enjoy the day with Taapsee with an amazing view of the city, as and when she gets free from her shoot.”

Recently, Taapsee took a big step in her professional career as she turned producer with the establishment of her production house, Outsiders Films. Under this company, Taapsee also announced her first project, Blurr opposite Gulshan Devaiah, for which she is currently shooting in Nainital. The actress had asserted that with Outsiders films, she intends to empower new talent that are looking for a breakthrough and come with no background in films.

Apart from Blurr, Taapsee also has a busy few years ahead with multiple films in different stages of production. While she has completed the shoot of Akarsh Khurana’s Rashmi Rocket opposite Priyanshu Painyuli, Anurag Kashyap’s Do Baara with Pavail Gulati and Looop Lapeta with Tahir Raj Bhasin, she also has the Telugu film Mishan Impossible which was recently announced and Indian cricketer Mithali Raj’s biopic Shabash Mithu, which she is to begin sometime next year.
