Janhvi Kapoor's second feature film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl which is about the journey of the Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena who became the first Indian female pilot in combat. But the film landed in trouble when Indian Air Force expressed their displeasure and disappointment for showing IAF in a bad light, for portraying IAF as a gender-biased group. After a lot of controversies, the real-life hero Gunjan Saxena clarified by penning a long note saying that neither she nor director Sharan Sharma had any intention of insulting the IAF. She also wrote that the idea was to showcase her life, journey, dreams and her little achievements.

Amidst all this, the latest update in this controversy states that Delhi HC has asked the former Indian Air Force officer Gunjan Saxena to file a statement regarding the events shown in Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and if it tried to hamper IAF’s image, as reported in India Today. Reportedly, she has been asked to submit an affidavit stating her assessment of the content shown in the film. HC has also asked her to state as to whether the producers of the film have violated any terms in the agreement.

Earlier, the Centre had filed a plea, seeking a stay on the streaming of the film but Delhi HC refused it and asked why the plea was not made before the film's release.
