Salman Khan won over critics and the audience with the
2016 blockbuster Sultan, where he played a wrestler who beats all odds to
become a champion again.
Another Khan will follow him into the Akhada, none other
than brother Sohail Khan. We had told you earlier that the first TV
series produced by Salman Khan will be based on the life of the legendary
Indian wrestler, Gama Pehalwan.
Ghulam Mohammed Aka The Gama Pehalwan
Sohail will be playing the role of wrestler Ghulam
Mohammed aka the Great Gama.
One of the most important figures in Gama’s life was his
brother. And the Khans have zeroed in on a star kid to play the role.
It is none other than Mithun Chakraborty's son Mahaakshay
Chakraborty.

The story is set in Amritsar which was Gama's hometown
before the Partition. Mahaakshay is busy prepping for the role and he is building
a physique like that of a pehalwan.
Gama Pehalwan or The Great Gama was born in Amritsar into
a Kashmiri family on 22nd May 1878. Undefeated in a career spanning over 52
years, he is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. After Independence
in 1947, Gama moved to Pakistan. He breathed his last on 23rd May, 1960 in
Lahore at the age of 82.
