It is always fascinating to know some interesting stories about your favourite celebrity. Currently, Kareena Kapoor Khan is in the news as everyone is desperately waiting to know the name of her second born. Kareena and Saif Ali Khan had received major backlash after they named their first baby boy Taimur and that is why there is a lot of anticipation to know about the name of their baby number 2. Well, until the couple reveals the name, here's an interesting story behind Kareena Kapoor's name.
As per several reports, Kareena Kapoor was earlier named as Siddhima Kapoor by her grandfather Raj Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor's daughter and Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor's daughter were born six days apart during the Ganpati Festival. So grandfather Raj Kapoor wanted to name his granddaughters Riddhima and Siddhima. It was as per the names of Lord Ganesha's two wives as mentioned in mythological stories. Though Neetu Kapoor named her daughter Riddhima, Babita Kapoor opted to change it. She was reportedly reading Leo Tolstoy's book Anna Karenina and thus chose the name Kareena.
Coming to why she got the nickname Bebo, Kareena in an interview had mentioned that it was just to rhyme with her elder sister Karisma Kapoor's nickname which is Lolo. "My father and mother wanted some funny names for both of us, so its Lolo and Bebo and there's no real meaning. It kind of rhymes. Lolo means loli, in Sindhi they say meethi loli (Sindhi sweet roti), so hers came from there, mine just happened," she said.
