The Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Good Newwz hit the silver screen today. The film tackles the subject of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) in a humourous tone. During a recent media interaction, we asked the actor as to how did he manage to maintain the sensitivity of the subject without making it look vulgar.
Said Akshay, “Vulgarity toh nahin, on the contrary, education bohot hai film mein. We went straight for it. It is just like how science students discuss with each other. It's just a taboo of the society that they suppress these kinds of topics.”
Next, he added, “Please for God’s sake, stop removing mistakes from the film. It's just a character that speaks.” In a fun tone, Akshay said, “I have done a film on swapping wives, but this film is about swapping sperms. I think swapping works for me.”
Apart from this, the actor also expressed his desire to make a film on depression someday. He even expressed grief over the shocking demise of TV actor Kushal Punjabi with whom he worked in the film Andaaz (2003). Said the actor, “Everybody has their own things. Some are lucky to understand, but unfortunately some don’t. Always remember that your family matters. Be brave enough to face the problem as it's a beautiful life. Your mother and father gave you this beautiful life. Just work on it but deal with your depression too.”
And, he even spoke about the CAA protest as he said that he is completely against violence; urged people to not destroy anybody’s property.
Coming back to the film, SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film 4 stars and was all praises for the actors.
