It’s Ganesh Chaturthi today and the whole nation, especially Maharashtra, is all set and eager to bring Bappa home and take care of him and celebrate with him for the next few days. Even our B-town brigade is all ready to give Bappa the welcome he deserves. And even though things can’t be as extravagant as they used to be due to the pandemic protocols, the enthusiasm and excitement is all up there.
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas debutante Sahher Bamba, who was recently seen in the series, The Empire, talks about her Ganpati plans this year. “My Ganpati plan is to eat a lot of mithai and enjoy the festival just so that I can splurge. I have a big sweet tooth, so I'm waiting to eat a lot of modaks,” she gushes.
Will she be hosting Bappa at her home? “To be honest, since I am from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, people over there don’t really do all the ceremonies that are done during Ganpati. It’s been just a couple of years for me here in Mumbai, but I am sure in a couple more years, I will be bringing Ganpati to my home too,” she responds.
Sunny Kaushal also shares that this festival holds a special place in his heart and he is all excited for bappa. “I will be visiting all of my friends’ places as much as I can as Ganpati is one of my favourite festivals and even though this year might be different and we might not be able to, I look forward to the visarjan for the whole year. In my old building where I used to stay, we used to keep one Ganpati as a community in the building and it is a big festival for us. We usually keep bappa for one-and-a-half days but I’ll be going to places for darshan, as much as possible,” he shares.
