Back in December 2017, a former Bollywood actress had accused a co-passenger of molesting her during a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. She had narrated her ordeal through an Instagram live video. The incident had taken place when the former Bollywood actress was a minor. Fast forward to now, the Mumbai-based accused, 41, has been convicted in a special POSCO Court. The court has held the man, who goes by the name of Vikash Sachdeva, under Section 8 of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act and Section 354 (dealing with assault or criminal force used with the intent to outrage a woman's modesty) of the IPC.
As per ANI, Vikash Sachdeva has been sent to 3 years of imprisonment. “Mumbai: Vikas Sachdeva, a man accused of molesting a Bollywood actress on-board a flight, has been convicted by a court in Dindoshi under Section 8 of POCSO Act and Section 354 of IPC. The former Bollywood actress, in her video, could be heard saying, "So, I was in a flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai today and right behind me one middle-aged man who made my two-hour journey miserable. I tried to record it on phone to understand it better because the cabin lights were dimmed, I failed to get it.” She added, “The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another five to ten minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck.”
