While Priyanka Chopra flies off to the US to bite the bait of her Rs 21 crore deal with ABC Studios putting her co-production with Madhur Bhandarkar Madamji on hold (SpotboyE.com, January 6), the National Award filmmaker will meanwhile complete the film's casting.
Buzz is, he has asked Pakistani actor Fawad Khan to star in Madamji.
A source close to the development says, "Madhur saw Khoobsurat and loved Fawad's performance."
Critically and commercially acclaimed actor in Pakistani television, Fawad rose to prominence with Khuda Ke Liye which released in 2007. In 2014, Fawad made his Bollywood debut in Sonam Kapoor starrer Khoobsurat- a remake of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 classic by the same name.
Under a one-year contract, ABC Studios will either develop a starring vehicle for Priyanka or cast her in an existing project set for 2015.
Priyanka and Madhur's joint venture was supposed to start in November, last year.
