We all know that Farhan Akhtar had teamed up with Kriti Sanon, for the film Lucknow Central, which was to tell the story of a band started by jail inmates.

The film was to go on floors by September this year and was going to be produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Nikhil Advani. But as per the latest rumour in tinsel town, Excel has backed out at the last minute and as a result the film might be shelved.

A source in the industry confirmed the news to SpotboyE.com and said, “Yes, the production house Excel Entertainment had backed out. The reasons for the same are unknown but now Nikhil is left with nowhere to go.”

As of now Farhan Akhtar has his fingers crossed for the film Rock On 2, which also features Shraddha Kapoor. The film is all set to hit the theaters on November 11.

SpotboyE.com had also told you that the actor will be playing underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Ashim Ahluwalia’s gangster biopic Daddy, based on the life of Arun Gawli. The 42-year-old filmmaker shot his portions in a day-long shoot in a Khar bungalow in June (Farhan Akhtar To Play Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim, Oct 6).
