As the debate over nepotism picked momentum post Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, Abhay Deol took to his social media account to talk about various things including getting demoted and lobbied at award shows. He spoke about his film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and shared that at award functions, he and Farhan Akhtar were demoted to 'supporting roles' while Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif were projected to be the leads and received nominations in 'Best actors' category. Now, Farhan has responded to it.
At India Today e-Conclave Inspiration, The Sky Is Pink star said that everybody is in a rat race to bag a spot and that if someone just cares about magazine covers and more then he is in the wrong profession. Farhan said, "Your are constantly hearing about some rat race and everybody is fighting each other to some kind of spot which does not exist. I mean the fact is you have to believe in yourself, you have to work sincerely, work hard."
He further said, "If that is your larger interest, I really feel that you are in the wrong profession. You’re not here for that. Have you come here to be an actor, director, singer, music composer, or have you come here to be a reality star? Have you come here to be just, I don’t know, a star?" Farhan believes that one should stop seeking validation. Okay then!
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara that released in 2011 was about three friends who embark on a road trip to Spain and learn a lot of things about life. (Also Read: Abhay Deol Hits Out At Bollywood Yet Again; ‘Feels Good To Hear Loud Voices From Industry, Risking Their Careers For The ‘Bigger’ Picture’)
