The devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to sweep across the country and the COVID positive cases have been rising, putting a great deal of stress on the medical infrastructure in the country. The vaccination has started for the age group of 18-44 from May 1, and a few young Bollywood celebrities also got their first jab in the last few days. The BMC has come up with a unique idea of a drive-through vaccination and has started it at multiple locations after the success of its first location in Dadar.
Many celebrities have been posting online about having received their first shot of the COVID vaccine. The recent one among the Bollywood celebs, is actor-director Farhan Akhtar. He shared about getting the first dose at a drive-in vaccination centre at Andheri. He tweeted, “Got my first jab today via drive through at Andheri sports complex. Thank you to @mybmc & @MumbaiPolice for the streamlined system.”
Farhan Akhtar further added that the process takes about 2 to 3 hours, and asked all those who are going to get vaccinated in the coming days to be patient. “To those waiting their turn, the process does take 2-3 hours (for now) so please be patient. Carry water & a snack, if need be. Stay safe,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan also received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccine. He was spotted at the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on Friday.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar will next be seen in Toofaan. While the film was earlier slated to release globally on Amazon Prime Video on May 21, it has now been postponed, in light of the current situation with the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
