Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan recently took to her Instagram handle to shower praise on Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s new Pepsi ad which slammed the society for judging women. The dancer recalled her being subjected to the hateful commentary that tried to bring her down in her journey as not only a successful choreographer and director but also as a woman. Farah recalled how she was told she is too old to get married or to have kids.

On Wednesday, the director shared a commercial featuring Samantha and wrote in the caption, “As I am watching this film, I can’t help but remember how many times I have been subjected to commentary that tried to bring me down in my journey as not only a successful choreographer and director but also as a woman.. You don’t dress like a Choreographer. You’re too young to be in this field. Women can’t make action films. You’re too old to get married. Too old to have kids.” She added, “Guess what? Here I am and I DID IT. I chose not to give into what society had to say about me but put in the hard work to #RiseUpBaby! Love this narrative."

In the ad, the South actress, who is seen dressed as a bride, hears two elderly women saying 'girls should get married on time'. The actor then got up from the mandap and said “Time se nahi, marzi se honi chahiye.” Later, Samantha entered an apartment building, where the security guard questions her about what work she's doing late at night. She gave him a badass answer with confidence. ALSO READ: Farah Khan On Having Kids At Age Of 43 Via IVF: ‘I Proudly Say My Children Are From IVF And No A Pizza Man Did Not Deliver You’
