OK Jaanu trailer released this morning, and by the looks of it, it doesn't look anywhere close by to the original Tamil version, OK Kanmani. As someone who has seen and loved OK Kanmani, I felt that it may have been just me who was getting this vibe. However, that wasn't the case!

I just checked on Twitter, and people all over have been bashing the trailer of the film black and blue. One guy's tweet perfectly summoned everyone's thoughts when he said, "Unfortunately #OKKanmani is trending instead of #OkJaanu. After watching the trailer, it made sense. Remake lacks the magic."

Leads r okayish but this roy lacks @dulQuer's energy & chemistry with #NithyaMenen. Feels like Aashiqui-3 again #OKJaanuTrailer #OKKanmani

Some stories are better left untouched #OKJaanuTrailer #OKKanmani

Tbh wasn't a huge fan of #OKKanmani but the naturalness of DQ & Nithya is missing in OKJaanu. Also on a side note Im related to Shaad :p

To be fair, #OkKanmani was ManiRathnam's work, and #OkJaanu is #shaadAli's. There is no comparison, clearly. https://t.co/H16BtH2BKY

#OKKanmani & #OkBangaram will ALWAYS be better than #OkJaanu - y'all need to watch the original first 🙏🏾

☺☺#OKKanmani pic.twitter.com/KkUTPK0s27Some movies should not be remade OR even made in the first place! #OKKanmani was disappointing and now there's #okjaanu #justno
— Flo Vidyand (@theyackerr) December 12, 2016I just hope Bollywood won't remake malayalam masterpiece #Premam 🙏🏼 #OKKanmani

Come January 13, 2017, we will get to know whether this remake is anywhere close to the original Mani Ratnam directed film.
