Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh had hit the big screens last year and, despite opening to mixed reviews and a lot of criticism, the film turned out to be a blockbuster. According to a section of people on social media and elsewhere, Kabir Singh endorsed misogyny, patriarchy and relationship abuse. But let's give the credit where it's due, Shahid Kapoor's super rugged performance and transformation as Kabir Singh was spectacular and the actor received a lot of praises for the same. However, he didn't win any accolade for it and a lot of his fans had bashed the award shows for this very reason.
Now, during a recent QnA session on Twitter, Shahid was asked if whether he was disappointed over not getting any award for Kabir Singh because of the controversies around it. And while the actor didn't say no, he gave a rather diplomatic reply and thanked his fans for such tremendous love. A fan wrote, "Do you feel disappointed that your Kabir Singh performance wasn't appreciated by the awards ceremonies because of the controversy surrounding it?"
To which, Shahid wrote, "On the contrary. I can’t be thankful enough for the love you all have. I am because of you all."

Shahid Kapoor was also quizzed about his upcoming film Jersey, which is a Hindi remake of a film that goes by the same name. Kapoor wrote, "Just trying our best to make a good film. But I am very happy with whatever we have done so far. Really enjoying the journey and the team," to a question that read, "Huge Expectations From Jersey After Kabir Singh, Pls Share Something About It With Us?"
We can't wait to see it already!
