Just recently, comedienne-actor Mallika Dua took to her Instagram to share a post for the people who fear they aren’t massy enough in their appeal. Mallika shared a post that read, “To people who fear they aren’t “massy” enough in their appeal and get sad about that. Don’t. It’s good. Great in fact. Masses don’t know shit. Look who they brought to power in India, America, UK, Brazil, Russia etc etc etc. There’s great comfort in knowing you don’t appeal to complete morons. If you’re a crowd pleaser to a largely idiotic crowd you need to rethink your brand.” In the post, Mallika explained how the masses do not know or understand anything and mentioned to all the people who fear they aren’t massy that there is great comfort in knowing one does not appeal to compete morons.
As Mallika went on to explain her stance on Mass Vs Class, producer Ekta Kapoor reacted to the comedian’s post. Ekta Kapoor commented, “Ppl cannot b categorized as mass n class! If ur brand appeals to@d masses great to d classes great to no one great too! An inclusive society doesn’t encourage high brow intellect but empathy that goes beyond religion intellect creed n class! My two bits,” and added some laughing emoticons to her comment. The producer mentioned how people cannot be categorized by mass and class and spoke about how an inclusive society does not encourage intelligence but requires empathy that goes beyond everything else.
Moving on, as soon as Ekta Kapoor reacted to Mallika Dua's post, their debate on Instagram on 'Mass Vs Class' went on as the comedian reacted to the comment made by the producer. In her reply, Mallika mentioned to Kapoor how not every brand wants to be a multimillion-dollar business that offers a buffer for every palate and added that some like her are individuals and explained the struggles one faces to appeal to the masses. Things soon escalated to some other direction as soon as a troll kicked in and slammed Mallika Dua for her comments back at Ekta Kapoor siding with the producer. The troll wrote, “Justification for your own insecurity. Please don't be scared to reply to Ekta Kapoor's comment, if you're talented enough then there won't be any halt in your work and earnings because of your opinion.” Read the comments below:
