After the Central Board of
Certification (CBFC) refused to pass Great Grand Masti last month owing to the
film’s extreme vulgar content (Censor Board rejects Great Grand Masti, Jan 28),
producer Ekta Kapoor and director Indra Kumar have now knocked on the doors of
the Tribunal.
The interesting bit is that they have
skipped approaching the Revising Committee (RC) altogether.
A source says, “Ekta felt that the RC
would probably reject the film, much like the Censor Board. So she saw no point
in going to them and just delaying the entire process. She decided to take the
matter directly to the Tribunal.”
Last month, Mahesh Bhatt too did the
same thing with his production Love Games. When the Censor Board asked for 18
cuts in the Vikram Bhatt-directed erotic thriller, the spitfire filmmaker
directly approached the Tribunal, who passed the film with just one cut.

And then, Prakash Jha
followed suit with his Priyanka Chopra starrer Gangaajal, where he too was let
off with least number of cuts
