Now, putting an end to the speculation, Katrina Kaif's spokesperson clarified: "The reports are completely untrue. Katrina Kaif has not been offered the film."
Even before this big announcement from Katrina, the film has had its fair share of controversies. The film was said to be a joint venture between Salman Khan Films and Dharma Productions. However, Salman backed out, and that's when Akshay came onboard as the co-producer.

Interestingly, the battle of Saragarhi has been a bone of contention between Akshay, Ajay Devgn and Randeep Hooda. Ajay was also in the process of making a film on the same subject, while Randeep too is busy shooting for a yet-untitled film based on the Battle Of Saragarhi.
Coming back to Kesari, the film directed by Anurag Singh will hit theatres on Holi 2019
