It needed a SpotboyE.com true-to-the-hilt story for Team Manikarnika, now obviously led by Kangana Ranaut, to confirm that the film's producer Kamal Jain has indeed suffered a paralytic stroke and is on a ventilator (in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital). Manikarnika's lead actress seemed to be on a mission, when the production unit denied to timesnownews.com on Sunday afternoon (story published at 1.28 pm) that there was nothing serious with Mr Jain. Hectic efforts were made yesterday (quite an insensitive overdrive) to dismiss off his paralytic stroke as a sore throat and lung infection. The worst in that denial story came when Miss Ranaut herself dismissed the gravity of the situation and said, "He (Mr Jain) is doing fine. The reports are misleading. He fell sick last week and is on his way to recovery. I am in touch with him everyday. Request everyone to please stop backing sensational reports."
This was a clear attempt by Team Manikarnika to rubbish/downplay our Saturday night story which broke the news of Mr Jain's delicate health. The earlier effort made by Zee Studios (who have inexplicably pumped in loads of money in this historical drama, let's hope their expectations are not belied) to distribute a statement, hinting that it had been written by Mr Jain, would have been lapped up by the media if we hadn't quickly spoken to Dr Ram Narayan (Executive Director of Koilaben Ambani Hospital) who confirmed that Mr Jain was indeed on a ventilator in the ICU even now and down with a neurological disorder. And of course, we quickly published that story (2.28 pm). Pray Miss Ranaut, are patients on ventilators fine?
So, this morning, we eventually saw Miss Ranaut's quote in Mumbai Mirror to a question: Your producer Kamal Jain has reportedly suffered a paralytic stroke. He is currently on the ventilator battling for his life. Miss Ranaut replied, "This happened a week ago. When we were in Delhi together on Jan 6, he had complained of a kharash in his voice. Two days later, he called from the hospital to say that the MRI report had detected a small clot in the brain. After that, he couldn't move one side of his mouth, couldn't talk or eat. It was scary. we're praying for him and have taken over all his responsibilities. On Saturday, Kamalji released a letter (how could he when he is on a ventilator, as stated by us it was Zee TV who released and distributed that letter and later it went on Mr Jain's Twitter handle, not a big deal when in today's times of smart phones which have our Twitter already logged in) thanking everyone for their concern and informing that he was recovering."
Thank you, Dr Ram for being honest. As we have always honestly said, we love honesty.
A quick question: Who was benefiting by painting a rosy picture of Mr Jain's health and almost reiterating the Raju Hirani film 3 Idiots dialogue 'All is well'?
