Actress Sushmita Sen has been enjoying her return to the limelight. Currently basking in the praises of her web series Aarya 3: Antim Vaar, she is one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation in Bollywood. Over the years, she has garnered a huge fan base owing to her versatile acting performances. She has been climbing the ladder of success ever since she won the title of Miss Universe in 1994. The actress will complete 30 years of achieving the title in May 2024. In a recent interview, she got nostalgic about her win and recalled how she learned table etiquettes.
During her interaction with Curly Tales, the 48-year-old actress recalled attending a seven-course dinner as a guest of honour in Mexico. Despite being only 18-years-old, back then, and not knowing much English, she was sat at the head of the table along with twenty men. Since she had been starving, she turned to her travel manager Barbara and stated that she was “very hungry.” The travel manager asked her to start eating as the other guests were waiting for her to eat since she was the chief guest. It was then that Mexico’s then-tourism minister guided her through the seven-course meal. This entire experience led Sushmita to learn table etiquettes so that she won’t feel out of place. Talking about the same, the Taali actress reached out to Barbara and told her that she wanted to learn table manners so that she won’t have to feel out of place again. The Miss Universe organisation arranged for her to meet with an etiquette teacher from San Francisco where they practiced ‘various aspects of etiquette’. Recalling one valuable lesson that stuck with her, Sen shared, “One of the things I learnt from her was, ‘Pet bhar kar kha kar jaao ghar se,' so that you do not have the urge to eat at the dinner table and you can elegantly say, ‘No more, thank you’, and they will assume you follow a strict diet.”
On the work front, Sushmita Sen was recently seen in the third and the final season of Aarya titled Antim Vaar. The Ram Madhvani directorial became the talking point on the internet as critics and the audiences shared their mixed reviews.
