Bollywood celebrity couple Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have set a standard for a successful marriage. They have often openly talked about the struggle they had to go through to get married to each other as Gauri was 21-years-old and he was 26-years-old at the time. Not only was age the factor, but also them being from two different religions and SRK starting his career as an actor. Back in 2008, the couple shared a hilarious yet childish anecdote from their younger days.
During an interaction with Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for their show First Ladies, the interior designer and entrepreneur had spoken about how they had temporarily changed Shah Rukh’s name to Abhinav. Hailing from her Hindu Brahmin family, her parents were completely against her interfaith marriage with the actor. Recalling the difficult phase of their life, she recalled how they were so young to decide that they wanted to get married. Especially to the person who was “going to join films, and being from a different religion.”
