Gulshan Grover, who is known to play baddie in several Bollywood movies, revealed he was chosen to play a villain in a James Bond film. However, the makers replaced him as the actor made the announcement before the makers. The actor was roped in to play Le Chiffre in Casino Royale which marked Daniel Craig’s first film in the James Bond series. Later the Le Chiffre’s role was played by Mads Mikkelsen. The actor made this revelation in an interview with Rediff.
The actor was asked by Prince Charles’ cousin if he would be part of James Bond when attended the meeting in 2015 at Clarence House in London’s St James Palace. The actor said, “His Royal Highness’s cousin immediately wanted to know if I was really doing the next Bond film.” Back then I was finalized to play the role, and he excitedly spilled the beans to his reporter friend, it was out in the Daily Mirror. And this led to the actor being replaced by the makers.
He said, “Unfortunately, it appeared before a formal announcement was made. That upset the producers, who replaced me with Mads Mikkelsen,” he said.
