The film industry was left in shock and mourning when Sushant Singh Rajput tragically passed away on June 14, 2020, by suicide. His departure created an enormous void, and his apartment at Mount Blanc in Bandra, Mumbai remained vacant for years. In 2023, Adah Sharma, known for her role in The Kerala Story, was seen outside Sushant’s former residence. Initial reports suggested she was buying the flat, but it was later confirmed that she rented it for an impressive Rs. 4.5 lakh per month. For context, Sushant’s apartment is a spacious duplex covering 3,600 sq ft, featuring a vast hall on the lower floor and three bedrooms upstairs. Adah Sharma recently opened up about her new home in an interview with Bombay Times. She shared that she moved into the flat four months ago but only recently had the time to settle in due to her busy schedule, including promotions for her projects, Bastar and the OTT release of The Kerala Story, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary in Mathura.

Moving out of her lifelong home in Pali Hill, Bandra, for the first time, Adah expressed her sensitivity to good vibes and the positive atmosphere she felt in Sushant’s apartment. She remarked, “I have lived in the same house at Pali Hill (Bandra) all my life and this is the first time I’ve moved out of there. I’m very sensitive to vibes, and this place (Sushant Singh Rajput’s apartment) gives me positive ones. Our homes in Kerala and Mumbai have been surrounded by trees, and we used to feed birds and squirrels. So, I wanted a home with a view and ample space to feed birds.” ALSO READ: Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sister Shweta Singh Kirti Launches Campaign To Investigate His Death, Urges CBI Probe

Despite superstitions and warnings from people about moving into the apartment due to Sushant’s tragic death, Adah never hesitated. She followed her intuition, as she had done with her film choices like 1920 and The Kerala Story, rather than listening to others’ opinions. Adah has since given the apartment a makeover, painting the walls white. The lower floor has been transformed into a mandir, one upstairs room into a music room, another into a dance studio, and the terrace into a garden.

In an earlier interview with Siddharth Kanan, Adah addressed the comments made about Sushant when news of her renting his apartment emerged. She expressed her shock and disapproval, stating her respect for Sushant and her desire to preserve his memory with dignity. Adah emphasized, “I don’t stand for that. He is an actor who I have great respect for so I would like to put everything where he has his respect. I don’t appreciate people making casual comments... I didn’t find it acceptable. I read some comments about him. I mean, you can criticize me, but please refrain from criticizing someone who isn’t here or doesn’t have a voice.”

Adah concluded with a heartfelt sentiment, saying she would share details about her living space in due time, but for now, she felt she was residing “in the hearts of millions of people, rent-free.” Fans eagerly await glimpses of Adah Sharma’s newly decorated home, once the residence of the beloved Sushant Singh Rajput.
