Siddhant Chaturvedi is currently riding high on the success of his latest release 'Gehraiyaan’ which also featured Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. While the film received mixed reactions, Siddhant-Deepika’s cracking chemistry garnered much love and appreciation. Shakun Batra’s directorial witnessed many intimate and liplock scenes between Deepika's character Alisha and Siddhant's character Zain, which was indeed the highlight of the film. However, a certain section of people trolled Deepika and Siddhant saying they 'should have taken permission from Ranveer Singh for their intimate scenes.'
While speaking to Bollywood Bubble, the Gully Boy actor has opened up about the negative comments and flak that he received for doing intimate scenes with Deepika. Siddhant stated that these comments "don't anger him since he and Deepika are professionals and know their equation". He also revealed that Ranveer was in fact the first person he had called when he had signed the film. Not just this, Ranveer also accompanied them to Goa and had partied hard with them.
Talking about the film, Deepika had earlier told indianexpress.com that Gehraiyaan has been her most memorable film experience because it's not often one gets to work with a crew, director, and cast who are of a similar age group, think alike, have similar tastes and interests. The Piku actress also penned a gratitude note for her fans for such an overwhelming response. She had written, “The response to Gehraiyaan has been dizzying to say the least! ‘Alisha’ has been my most visceral, indelible and delicious experience as an artist. While I am ecstatic and overwhelmed, I am also truly grateful and humbled!
