Salman Khan is on a promotion spree for his upcoming Eid release, Tubelight. Now, if Salman is out for a media interaction, it’s rare that he doesn’t make headlines.
Ditto was the case yesterday, when at a promotional event the discussion was on about what makes a movie click with the audiences and Salman passed a comment which seemed more like a sly message slamming Rohit Shetty’s brand of cinema.
Elaborating his views on the topic, Salman Khan said, “You cannot fool the audience with glamour, action and expensive flying cars,”

Well, as we all know Rohit Shetty is popular for designing action sequences around flying cars, Salman’s statement somewhere mocked Shetty’s style of filmmaking.
Salman further added, “It is crucial that the audience connects with the emotion in the film. We all assume that when we sign a movie, it will turn out to be a Sholay or a Mughal-E-Azam. The base of a great film is the story and not just the treatment,”
Salman even asserted that since he is a writer’s son, he understands what importance a story holds in filmmaking. He said, “I am the son of a writer, and I understand that you will need a good script and even if the making is not so great, the film does well because people can follow the story. But when there is no story and only style in the making, the film tends to get off the screens sooner because the audience does not find any story to link to in the movie,”
We wonder what Rohit Shetty has to say to Salman Khan’s comment!
