With Navratri around the corner, singer Dhvani Bhanushali recently came up with a Navratri song Mehendi, which is currently trending on YouTube. The song is a modern-day recreation of a Gujarati folk song, and its video featuring Dhvani alongside Gurfateh Singh Pirzada, has already crossed 30 million views on the video platform in a week’s time.

Talking about the response to the song, the singer says, “It’s really great that people are watching and liking the song and it makes us very happy. With Navratri around the corner, I really hope that everyone is dancing on Mehendi. It is a song of celebration and I hope that after this bleak time of Covid, people feel happy watching the video of Mehendi.”

Gurfateh resonates with the feeling. Mention it to him that it’s his first music video and he corrects you by revealing that it’s actually his second. “I wasn’t anything during my first music video so people don’t know about it much. Although, Mehendi is my first big one and it feels good to be appreciated. We just want the love from the dedicated fans,” he insists.

The duo shares a sizzling chemistry in the music video. Ask them how was the process of developing that and Dhvani says, “There was no process as such. I think we just met and clicked.” Gurfateh butts in to quip, “I feel hum itne bure log nahi ki matlab time lage. It was a very chill shooting experience and the vibe was also very enthusiastic and exciting.”

Ask Dhvani if she gave Gurfateh any tips about the music video industry considering she has much more experience here than him and she says, “I think he is going to be way more successful than me, just wait till next year.”

Meanwhile, Gurfateh is just excited to be a part of this avenue. “At the end of the day, I am an actor. So, I would like the industry to reach a place where actors are much more comfortable and open to doing music videos and they are presented in a way that films are presented. Rest is up to the audience,” he concludes.
