It so happened that Salman welcomed Priyanka in his inimitable andaaz. His tweet read, "#Bharat .. welcomes u back home @priyankachopra . See u soon .. By the way humari film Hindi hai ;) . @atulreellife @aliabbaszafar #Eid2019 (sic)."
Priyanka replied saying, "UP Bareilly की पली बड़ी हूँ जनाब.... #DesiGirl forever.Very happy to be a part of #Bharat and see all of u on set!! @beingsalmankhan @atulreellife @aliabbaszafar #Eid2019 (sic)."
Now, isn’t this quite a comeback by Priyanka?
Talking about her return to Bollywood after 2 years, Priyanka told a leading daily, “Bharat it is! I’m looking forward to begin shooting this film and working with Salman and Ali again after a considerable time. I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer. I’m also looking forward to working with Alvira and Atul (Agnihotri, Salman’s sister and brother-in-law and film’s producers) and the entire team of Bharat. To all my well-wishers who’ve been so patient and supportive… thank you for your constant support and I’ll see you all at the movies.”
Ali, on the other hand, said, “Bharat is Priyanka’s homecoming to Bollywood after having proved herself as a performer in a global TV show, Quantico, and in Hollywood. Bharat is rooted in India and its culture, spans over seven decades and travels across the world. Priyanka is the biggest Indian artist globally today and a perfect fit for the film as she brings to the table her incredible talent and international appeal.”
Bharat will bring together Priyanka and Salman after 10 years. They were last seen together in God Tussi Great Ho (2008). The film is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film Ode to My Father.
