Justice Prathiba M Singh additionally issued an order restraining "other unknown persons" from sharing various videos, with the specific links provided in the order. The court issued an interim injunction order in response to Anil Kapoor's lawsuit, which aims to safeguard his personality rights. The lawsuit's objective is to prohibit numerous entities, including unidentified individuals ("John Does"), from infringing upon his personality rights. This includes using his name, acronym AK, nicknames such as Lakhan, Mr. India, Majnu Bhai, the phrase Jhakaas, as well as his voice and images for commercial purposes without his explicit consent. Welcome actor expressed his satisfaction with the court's ruling, stating, "I am greatly pleased with the court's decision. After a thorough deliberation, the court has issued an order recognizing my personality rights and prohibiting any unauthorized use of my attributes, such as my name, image, likeness, voice, etc., in any form, including through artificial intelligence, deep fakes, GIFs, and more, without my explicit consent."
Anil Kapoor goes on to clarify that his primary objective is not to stifle anyone's freedom of expression. Instead, he seeks to safeguard his copyright space and protect his personality rights. He emphasizes that his intention is not punitive but rather to prevent any commercial exploitation, especially in the context of the evolving technology landscape, including tools like artificial intelligence.
