On 24 September,
we ran a big story of how the cold war between Varun Dhawan and Govinda had
taken a turn for the worse. The proof, Varun had apparently chopped off a
reference to Govinda from the song Tan Tana Tan in Judwaa 2.
This afternoon, we
spoke to Govinda for his take on the matter. Is he annoyed? Is he hurt?
Govinda Speaks About His Cold War With Varun Dhawan
Govinda told us
that he had not heard the song. He promised to call back after hearing it.
Varun Dhawan & Jacqueline Fernandez In Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 Song
After 10 minutes,
his name flashed on my mobile.
"Requirement
initiates writing. I don't think they tampered with the song for any other
reason,” said Govinda.
But what about the
fact that Govinda and the Dhawans had a very public fall-out?
Govinda did not deny the fall-out, but quickly added, "Aisa nahin
hota hai film industry mein. Here, everybody is out for business. Personal agendas
are not carried out," was Govinda’s rather diplomatic answer.

Further probing
did not yield anything much. Govinda continue to express similar sentiment.
"As I said, writing is dependent on the demand of time," he
concluded.
Judwaa 2 Star Varun Dhawan
Judwaa 2 is all
set to hit screens this Dussehra on September 29.
We are sure that
Govinda has observed restraint and been diplomatic in his reaction. We would
like to see Varun and David talking about the same. What was the 'requirement'
or the 'demand of writing' that drove them to delete Govinda's name.
The new version of Tan Tana Tan has retained most of the lyrics from the ‘90s hit but we noticed that Govinda’s name was missing from the song.
The original number had the lyrics, "Govinda hai hero aur Madhuri hai heroine" but that line has been removed from the new song featuring Varun, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapseee Pannu. It seemed like the Dhawans are in no mood to forgive and forget.
For those who have
come in late, Govinda had lashed out at Varun while promoting his film Aa Gaya
Hero.
"Ranveer
Singh and Varun Dhawan both have a body like Salman Khan. But they can't say
it. If they call themselves as Salman Khan, then they won't get films. They
can't afford to be against Khan. This is how the filmy world works. How can he
(Varun) be like me? To become Govinda, he needs to be innocent, uneducated and
a poor village boy. Varun is already a son of a director. In the last six
years, he hasn't done more than two films with his father, whereas I did 17
films with his father (David Dhawan)," Govinda had said.
