The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has got all of us on high alert when it comes to our health. Along with the government, Celebrities, too, are doing their bit in spreading awareness and contributing to those in need during this crisis. It was only recently that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas went with the WHO Chief live on Instagram to discuss COVID-19 and all the myths around it. Now, Deepika Padukone will be following the suit. In her recent post, the actress revealed going live with WHO’s Tedros Adhanom to discuss the importance of mental health.

“Prioritising mental health during the pandemic and beyond. Join Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, WHO and I, as we discuss the importance of mental health during the #COVD19 pandemic and lessons we can learn for the future,” read her post. This, however, didn’t go down well with a section of the internet and they went onto call it another PR gimmick after the JNU incident. She was also trolled for collaborating with Tedros, who has been at the receiving end of criticism for allegedly not warning the world about the Coronavirus outbreak in advance, despite knowing.

While some users demanded her boycott if she goes ahead with the discussion, many asserted that they won’t watch her films anymore. A user wrote, “How did Ms. Padukone end up with such a bad PR agency. Terribly bad calls for a while now,” while another tweeted, “My respect for Deepika has gone down million times. I will no more watch her movies. Sorry but this is my view.”
