Deepika will not only act but also co-produce the film with Meghna and Fox Star Studios. The actress will reportedly stay in Delhi to understand the character better.
“Deepika met Laxmi in Delhi a few years back. As for the film, she is working eight hours a day to perfect the role. Besides readings with Meghna, she is also using photographs and videos of Laxmi as her reference points. The team has also collated data about other acid attack survivors to get an in-depth understanding about the subject,” Mumbai Mirror reported.

Meghna had earlier revealed that when she saw the pictures Laxmi before the attack the only name has sprung up in her mind was of Deepika. “I could not believe when Deepika agreed to play the role. To essay the role of an acid attack survivor is very difficult,” she said.
Alia Bhatt was praised for her performance in Meghna Gulzar’s spy-thriller Raazi. Critics also raved about Meghna’s direction. Now fans can’t wait to see the magic that will be created in her new collaboration with Deepika.
