2007- THE BIG
BOLLYWOOD DEBUT

The gorgeous
lady, made her Bollywood debut on this day, ten years back with Shah Rukh Khan-
starrer, Om Shanti Om (2007) and left viewers and the industry awestruck with
her beauty.
However,
Deepika’s path was not so easy ahead. She faced a lot of failures in her career
but made sure she learns from them and use it as a stepping stone towards
success.
2008- ROMANCE
WITH EX-BOYFREIND RANBIR KAPOOR
After Om Shanti
Om, which was a hit at the box-office, Deepika signed Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008)
with her then boyfriend- Ranbir Kapoor. The film was not a great win at the
ticket windows but Deepika was appreciated for her glam avatar and potential.
This was the time when Deepika also grabbed limelight for her relationship with
Ranbir Kapoor. The duo made their affair quite public after the release of the
film.
2009-
ROADBLOCKS AHEAD
Then came a few
roadblocks in Deepika’s career and personal life, like Chandani Chowk To China
with Akshay Kumar, where she tried experimenting with a double role yet again
(post Om Shanti Om) but failed. She also broke up with Ranbir in 2009.
2009 TO 2012-
TURNING POINTS

Although,
Deepika was still nursing a broken heart, the turning points in her professional
life were awaiting her. It was Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Cocktail in
2012 which changed people’s perspective towards Deepika. In both the films, she
starred opposite Saif Ali Khan. Imtiaz Ali brought out the real actress in
Deepika and the world by now knew that this woman is not just a face but talent
too.
2013- NO
STOPPING THE DIVA

Life changed for
Deepika hereafter. She made headlines yet again as she returned with
ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013).
Her role as Naina was much appreciated and the film turned out to be a superhit
at the box-office. Of course, Deepika and Ranbir returning on-screen post
break-up was cherry on the cake.
BUT that was not
it. Deepika also starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela with Ranveer
Singh. This not only marked the budding romance between Ranveer and Deepika,
but the film yet again proved that Deepika knows her job well. The crackling
chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika won millions of hearts.
Deepika also
became a big name in the fashion world by now with her many trendy and stylish
appearances at various events.
2015-
FILMFARE & NATIONAL FILM AWARD WINNER, PIKU
Deepika upped
her game from here on and took the challenge of sharing the screen space with
Bollywood’s megastar, Amitabh Bachchan. The film saw Dippy play a Bengali
architect while Big B played her father. Big B grabbed a National film award
for his role while Deepika won the Best Actress, Filmfare Award for 2015.

This year was a
replica of 2013 as it once again brought Deepika with Ranbir in Imtiaz Ali’s
Tamasha and also with Ranveer Singh in SLB’s Bajirao Mastani. Both films worked
well for the actress and she also got a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress
for Bajirao Mastani in the same year.
2017-
HOLLYWOOD DEBUT
Deepika Padukone
became an international name, this year, as she made her Hollywood debut with
Vin Diesel in xXx: Return Of Xander Cage. The film received lukewarm response
but Deepika’s acting skills were much appreciated.
At present,
Deepika is looking forward for her next big release, Padmavati with Ranveer
Singh and Shahid Kapoor. It is slated to release on Dec1. Deepika has once
again challenged herself as she is playing the role of Rani Padmavati in this
period drama.
