Piku, we can guess, is becoming either too emotionally taxing for Deepika Padukone or too much of a thrill ride. The actress, who's currently shooting in the capital for the film with Irrfan Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, hasn’t been able to get out of her character, a Bengali girl in conflicts with her father. The actress not only calls the septuagenarian superstar ‘Baba on the sets, but also off it.
“Deepika and Mr Bachchan have been bonding and spending so much time together of late that she has now decided to address him as Baba even when theyre not shooting. Deepika has been extremely close to the megastar, right from the time she started working with him in Aarakshan. She has always been in touch with him. She drops by on his sets often, when theyre not working together. She has a great association with Abhishek and Aishwarya too. She was among those few heroines who topped the Diwali party guestlist at the Bachchan home. So, this is just an extension of their relationship,” says a source close to the project.
