R Madhavan is ready to set the screens on fire with another Bollywood film which will be helmed by debut director Ashwin Neal Mani. The Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Main actor will be seen opposite debutant Khushali Kumar for the upcoming slice-of-life, which is titled as Dahi Cheeni. The story has a realistic and quirky approach Khushali, like any other aspiring actor, auditioned for her role and eventually bagged her debut film on merit. The makers unveiled the first look of their character, this morning.
Speaking about her first film Khushali told Bombay Times, "Like any other artist I'm very excited for my first film. I've worked really very hard for this prep, right from auditions to the prep, it's been a journey. I'm so kicked to start the first schedule very soon. And its scary to stand next to Maddy but I have made up my mind and I am ready to go at it full throttle."
Speaking about the film, debut director Ashwin told BT, “It’s my debut film, so I was finicky about every detail, and getting the right cast was my biggest concern. Then I met Khushali, and in due time, she proved to me that no one else could do a better job than her. I saw her living the character that I had visualised. And today, after eight months, I am happy to say that she is the perfect leading lady for the film.”
After Saala Khadoos, R Madhavan was seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero.
