Court Dismisses Sexual Harassment Case By Meesha Shafi Against Ali Zafar

Ali Zafar writes on social media: “Meesha Shafi’s case against me has been dismissed alongside the appeal made against the dismissal, the case in the court (now) is my (read: me) against her to pay for the damages that her false statement has (read: have) caused me, which naturally she is trying to run away from.”

Famous Pakistani singer and Bollywood actor Ali Zafar is having a sigh of relief. The sexual harassment charges against him made by another singer Meesha Shafi have been dismissed. Ali  took to social media to share the news.

Writing at length, the 38-year- old singer, actor and songwriter opened up on being accused of sexual harassment, an allegation levied by singer Meesha Shafi, in April last year. In his post, Zafar wrote: “Meesha Shafi’s case against me has been dismissed alongside the appeal made against the dismissal, the case in the court (now) is my (read: me) against her to pay for the damages that her false statement has (read: have) caused me, which naturally she is trying to run away from.”

Without mentioning the celebs that backed off from nominating him in the Lux Style Awards because he’s accused of sexual harassment, Zafar penned, "I have been quiet about all this for a year while thousands of disgusting tweets are posted against me like a campaign every time a big event comes, but it’s time to expose the truth via due process of law for which I urge FIA to take strict legal action," and then urged, “I would like everyone to join me in asking Miss Shafi to come to court.”

For those who've come in late, the Zafar-Meesha controversy during  Lux Style Awards in 2018 when Shafi accused Zafar on Twitter of molesting her physically on ‘more than one occasion’.
