Since many have tested positive for COVID-19, government officials have been taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of the people in the country as well as the travellers. As many passengers have travelled by air, the airport officials have been making sure everyone follows the routine to avoid spreading the virus. Amidst all this, just recently Alia Bhatt’s mother, actress Soni Razdan shared a video from Delhi Airport claiming that passengers were forced to test by the officials holding down their passports. Now, the actress finally deletes the video clarifying everything.
Actress Soni Razdan tweeted a video clip earlier claiming it was from Delhi Airport updating fans about the health care, not knowing it was an old one. Replying to Soni Razdan’s tweet, the Delhi Airport authority tweeted, “The video being circulated is an old one.” The airport authority mentioned that all immigration-related processes have been streamlined and operations are fully normal and shared that they continue to work in coordination to minimize inconvenience to passengers.
Meanwhile, re-tweeting the Airport authority’s message, Soni Razdan tweeted, “Deleting my tweet right away as this clarification has been issued by Delhi Airport. My only concern was the safety of those who could have spread the virus to each other (and to others) due to the way they were herded together, and not that people should not be checked.” The actress mentioned that she is deleting her tweet after receiving clarification by Delhi Airport authority. Razdan added that her concern was the safety of people herded together and explained that she had no problem that people should not be checked.
For the unversed, earlier, tweeting a video from Delhi Airport, Soni Razdan wrote, “New Delhi International airport T3 today. Now they are taking the passport of the arriving passengers and not returning them till all the tests are done. Even Indian citizens with Indian passport holders are not allowed to exit. Passengers are screaming at police to kill them.” In the tweet, Razdan mentioned how the officials were taking the passports of the passengers arriving and not returning until they tested for Coronavirus.
