Due to the Coronavirus Outbreak, the Government has called for a shut down of places like malls, theatres, schools, colleges, and temples where there is a possibility of mass gathering. With this, the production of Bollywood films, TV shows and web shows have also come to a standstill. Just yesterday we reported about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah maker Asit Modi requesting BMC to let him shoot for one more day in Film City. It is given that workers who earn their daily bread and better by working with production houses will suffer a loss. To help them, Sonam Kapoor and her family has come forward.
The Producers Guild Of India has set up a relief fund to help the workers who are suffering due to the shut down of the production house and Sonam has pledged to make a donation to this relief fund. Retweeting the statement of Producers Guild Of India, Sonam wrote, "My family and I will be donating."
Sonam Kapoor who recently came back to India with husband Anand Ahuja has been doing her bit by creating awareness among masses about Coronavirus. She is also into self-quarantine.
The Statement shared by Producers Guild has a quote of Sidharth Roy Kapur, who is the President of this Guild, that reads, "In light of the complete shutdown of all production related activity for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there is bound to be a significant impact on the lives and livelihoods of daily wage earners in the industry. The Producers Guild has decided to set up a Relief Fund to help support those most affected by the shutdown."
