Coronavirus Outbreak: Irrfan Khan Starrer Angrezi Medium To Re-Release After Things Settle; Filmmaker Homi Adajania Confirms

After Mumbai CM Uddhav Thackeray asked people to not be part of large gatherings which might affect theaters across Mumbai, following Coronavirus scare, makers of Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan's Angrezi Medium have decided on re-releasing the film once things settle.

Amid the deadly Coronavirus pandemic scare, the filmmakers across the globe have been pushing the release dates of their upcoming films ahead and have been asking their fans to stay safe. A day back, Rohit Shetty made an announcement of his upcoming film Sooryavanshi being postponed following the COVID-19 scare. Following the tradition, this Friday Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's much-awaited film Angrezi Medium hit the screens. But on the same day, for the safety concerns of Mumbaikars, Mumbai CM Uddhav Thackeray requested all to avoid public gatherings hence affecting theaters too. Though throughout India many states have ordered cinema halls to be shut amid the Coronavirus.

Since the theaters are closed from midnight, the makers of Angrezi Medium decided upon re-releasing the film. Taking to his Insta story, the Angrezi Medium producer Homi Adajania announced that the film will be re-released when it will be safe to do so. His Insta story read, “At midnight all theaters will be close across India till authorities give us further notice. We will re-release #AngreziMedium when it is safe to do so. Till then stay safe and be kind to each other. #johaisohai.”

Meanwhile, Coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China has been termed as pandemic by WHO and has almost contracted people in lakhs worldwide. India has currently 81 confirmed cases.
