Coronavirus Effect: Karan Johar's Magnum Opus Takht And Dostana 2 To Be Shelved?

Coronavirus has hit the country and its people in a big way. Everything is standstill and Bollywood is facing a huge impact on its operations and future projects. Bollywood celebrities have come ahead and went vocal on their respective social media handles urging their fans to stay indoors and take good care of themselves by washing hands and wearing a mask while travelling in the nearby vicinity. But if the latest online reports are anything to go by then it states that Karan Johar’s upcoming projects may be dropped considering the unfortunate condition that we are going through, currently.

The movie Takht, helmed by Karan Johar, stars like Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles whereas Dostana 2 stars newbie Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Laksshya in the lead roles. But now the multi-starrer movies seems to be shelved because of the ongoing coronavirus.

A source close to ace filmmaker Karan Johar revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “Takht was already an endangered project, what with controversies regarding its content and the scriptwriter being accused of a communal tweet. Still, Karan may have gone ahead with it. But now with the viral situation, Takht is strictly a no-can-do project for all concerned.”

The report also stated that Dharma may also drop Dostana 2 and Deepika Padukone-Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer too. While there’s no official confirmation on the same, let’s wait for the makers to make an official announcement. Announcing the lockdown of his production house, KJo released a statement and said, “In view of the epidemic spread of the COVID-19 virus throughout the world including India, we at Dharma Productions have suspended all administrative and production work until further notice.”
