Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No 1, directed by filmmaker David Dhawan is slated for a December 25 release. The movie is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on Christmas. Since the release of Coolie No 1’s trailer, the makers of the movie have been releasing peppy dance numbers back to back, creating excitement amongst the audience. Only two days before Coolie No 1’s release, the latest reports state that a film theatre in a Maharashtra city is planning to screen the movie illegally.
According to the latest report in Zoom, the president of the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghadi, a film trade union, Vijay Saroj, took a stand against the illegal screening of the David Dhawan directorial. The report stated that Sai Samarth Talkies, situated in Musalgaon, Nasik is planning to illegally screen Coolie No 1. As per the report, the movie theatre is planning to illegally download and then screen a pirated copy of the Varun Dhawan starrer.
The report mentioned that the theatre has shared pictures of posters of Coolie No 1. As per the report, Vijay Saroj approached the police officials regarding the matter. In his complaint, the film trade union president wrote, “Sai Samarth Talkies, Musalgaon is about to show and violate the copyright act of 1957 and show the film illegally.”
Meanwhile, the film Coolie No 1 stars Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaafery, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Manoj Joshi, Shikha Talsania, and Sahil Vaid. The film is a remake of the Govinda and Karisma Kapoor 1999 movie of the same title.
