Vikas Bahl has been shown the door by Super 30 makers, until he proves "not guilty" in the on-going #meToo controversy. After being mum for a long time, Reliance Entertainment has finally confirmed that their upcoming Anand Kumar biopic, led by Hrithik Roshan as the math coach, will not have any director's credit. A report in Mumbai Mirror also confirms that Anurag Kashyap, who is also a partner in the project, has taken the responsibility to overlook the post-production of the film.

Confirming the development, Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO of Reliance Entertainment told the leading tabloid, “Vikas is not associated with the edit and post-production”. Further the report suggested, “The film will be completed with its in-house credit partners.”

Sarkar further cleared the air saying, that Anurag is not replacing Vikas. He said, “There will be no director credit for anyone. As a producer, after substantial investment of time, money and the efforts of all our technicians and talent, it is our responsibility to complete the film with the best possible resources available to us. Anurag is a partner, he has edited films of other Phantom partners in the past. He agreed to take this responsibility on Reliance’s request, and with a professional and commercial understanding. Also, it has been agreed that he will not take any credit.”

When Shibasish was asked about Vikas’ reaction to the development, he said, “Vikas has been informed of every single decision. So, there is absolutely no ambiguity of our decision regarding him.”

He further told Mirror, if allegations against Bahl are cleared before the release of the film, the they will reconsider of putting his name in the credit role. “Vikas is currently pursuing legal action to clear the allegations levelled against him. If he can get an order clearing his name before the film’s theatrical release, either from the court or a competent body of course, as a company, we will reconsider whether his name can be given as the director. But only if he gets an order from a competent authority or institution,” said Sarkar.

For those who've come in late, the Queen director was called out by his female crew member for sexually harassing her. The victim in question had narrated the entire story to HuffPost, which suggested that Vikas Bahl had sexually assaulted the woman during the pre-release promotional tour of their movie, Bombay Velvet. Although a legal case was initiated, but the victim withdrew from the case midway, and told the court and media that she doesn’t intend to take the fight to the court and wants to be left alone. This decision was condemned by Vikas Bahl, who wanted to prove his innocence in the court.

Vikas Bahl

Well, apart from her, Vikas Bahl was called out by multiple women which included Queen actresses- Kangana Ranaut and Nayani Dixit and also a noted actress (name kept anonymous).

But Super 30 is not the only casualty for Vikas. Following the allegations, Phantom's four partners (Vikas Bahl, Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikramaditya Motwane) went on to part ways and dissolved their collaboration, Phantom Films too. Anurag and Vikarmaditya had lashed out on multiple occasions, condemning Vikas' conduct. Later, Vikas Bahl had slapped a legal notice against his ex-partners (Anurag and Vikramaditya). Also, Super 30's hero, Hrithik Roshan, although did not speak elaborately on the matter but had put out a tweet suggesting that no sort of harassment will be tolerated and he will ask makers to dig deep in the matter. Coming to the latest development, Super 30 has already been delayed, hopefully the film will release smoothly, now that there is someone (Kashyap) to look after it.
