Ever since the announcement of the movie, the makers of the Rohit Shetty directorial Cirkus, have maintained an air of mystery regarding the plot of the movie. While it’s public knowledge that actors Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma play double roles in the film, it is hard to say what the movie is about. If reports are to be believed, the movie is based on Gulzar’s 1982 film Angoor, starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma.
With the release of the posters and character introduction videos, the entire promotional campaign gives off a very 1960s vibe. Confirming the same, Ranveer recently released the teaser of the film, in which the cast members gave the audience a subtle hint as to what the movie is about. Featured in the video were Ranveer and Varun’s double avatars, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Tiku Talsania, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Brijendra Kala, Mukesh Tiwari, Siddhartha Jadhav, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Vrajesh Hirjee. Together, they revealed that the movie is based in the 1960s, when people prioritised personal relationships over social media.
They also reveal that the trailer for the much-awaited film will be released on December 2. Sharing the video on Instagram, Ranveer wrote, "Welcome to our world! Trailer coming out on 2nd December! #CirkusThisChristmas."
Fans couldn’t contain their excitement as they filled his comment section with heart, fire, and heart-eyes emojis. Many expressed how they were excited for the release of the film and couldn’t wait to go watch it in theatres. On the work front, last seen in YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer will return to the big screen with Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, which will be released on Christmas. He also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt in the pipeline, the movie will mark the directorial comeback of Karan Johar. The film also stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
