As much as Deepika Padukone has been amassing praises for her portrayal of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal in the trailer of Chhapaak, her co-star Vikrant Massey isn’t behind. The talented performer has also been earning equal amount of praises as he essays the role of Laxmi’s partner, social activist Alok Dixit.
At the song launch event of the film, Deepika was all praises for Vikrant as she began by saying, “It won't be possible if Vikrant was not a part of this film, if his character was not a part of this film.”
Meghna Gulzar adds, “Chhapaak has a face and that face also needs a mirror, so Deepika is the face and Vikrant is the mirror without which Chhapaak would be incomplete.”
As the two ladies continued showering praises on Vikrant, one could see the actor blush. He didn’t have much to say because the ladies had already answered on his behalf.
Then, Laxmi Agarwal also spoke about her first reaction when she saw Deepika in the poster of Chhapaak. “Mujhe bohot khushi hui aur mujhe yeh laga ki ab toh ho gaya society ka kaam. Main so rahi thi aur jaise hi maine first look dekha, social media pe, as logon ne mujhe itne saare messages kiye hue the, I said 'Wow, Laxmi!’ Yeh tha aur main jaha pe bhi jaati hu, logon ke dil mein Deepika ke liye bohot positivity hai. Like when I went to the set for the first time, I had realised that ki sach mein ab society ke dimaag se bohot kuch badalne wala hai. Seriously, thank you so much Deepika,” said Laxmi.
Chhapaak directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone, Govind Singh Sandhu and Meghna Gulzar is slated to release on Jan 10, 2020.
