There has been a lot of hype and excitement about Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak, which is all set to hit the big screens soon. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also stars Vikrant Massey and is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. The film is based on the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The premiere of Chhapaak was held yesterday and was attended by several celebrities such as Bhumi Pednekar, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, and many others. Ranveer Singh accompanied Deepika at the premiere. With only one day for the film to release, it has been made tax-free in Madhya Pradesh.
Chhapaak, even before it's release has now got tax exemption and has been made tax-free in the state of Madhya Pradesh. ANI took to Twitter and shared the news. It was only a few days ago, that Deepika Padukone had taken part in a demonstration in Delhi. She stood by the students of JNU who were protesting against the violence that took place on their campus on Sunday. Her visit to JNU came only a few days before the release of Chhapaak, and while a lot of people lauded her for her courage, many also thrashed her, trending #boycottchhapaak on Twitter.

We earlier spoke to Trade Analyst Girish Johar to understand the box office prediction of the film and according to him, Chhapaak will have an opening of around Rs 5 crore, and depending on word of mouth, the collections might fluctuate.
