Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey’s upcoming film
Chhapaak has created a stir after they released the first trailer of the film. Right from Deepika playing the acid attack survivor to fighting for justice,
Meghna Gulzar ensured to keep every aspect of
Laxmi Agarwal’s life in this film and well, she sure did a fabulous job. As a part of the tradition, as soon as the trailer is released, the makers start making their promotional plans so that the film reaches every nook and corner. Apparently, Chhapaak will not be promoted in Delhi and the reason behind is the Jamia Millia protest that has made the place chaotic.
Due to ongoing of Jamia Millia protest in Delhi, the makers of Chhapaak have cancelled the promoting in the capital. Deepika Padukone and Meghna Gulzar find it ‘insensitive.’ They released a statement saying that it would be insensitive to promote their film at a time when the nation and the city are going through an emotional upheaval and unrest. “We believe that it will be insensitive on our part to promote our film at a time when the nation and the city are going through an emotional upheaval and unrest. We pray for peace and harmony and regret the inconvenience caused by our absence but we hope you will understand” the statement read on Hindustan Times portal.
